- Asian Handicap
- A point spread that gives a fictional advantage or disadvantage to each team, making the match more balanced for betting.
- Bankroll
- The total money you have set aside for placing bets.
- Bet Builder
- A feature that lets you combine different outcomes from the same event—like goals, corners, and cards—into one wager.
- Bet Slip
- The digital record that lists the selections you have made, the amount you are staking, and the potential payout.
- Bonus Abuse
- Exploiting a promotion in ways not intended by the sportsbook, which can lead to account suspension.
- Cash Out
- You can settle your bet before the event finishes, locking in a profit or cutting your loss.
- Double Chance
- A bet that covers two of the three possible results (home win or draw, away win or draw, etc.).
- Expected Goals (xG)
- A stat that estimates how many goals a team should have scored based on the quality of their chances.
- Free Bet
- A token the sportsbook gives you that can be used to place a wager without risking your own money, with any winnings usually subject to rollover.
- In-Play (Live Betting)
- Placing a wager after the match has already started, with odds that update as the game unfolds.
- Juice
- The commission the bookmaker includes in the odds, often called the 'vig' or 'vigorish'.
- Kelly Criterion
- A mathematical formula that calculates the ideal proportion of your bankroll to wager when you have an edge.
- KYC (Know Your Customer)
- The process of verifying your identity and financial information to prevent fraud and comply with regulations.
- Lay
- In a betting exchange, to bet against an outcome; you act as the bookmaker and risk paying out if it wins.
- Market
- The full set of odds a bookmaker offers for a particular event, such as match result, total goals, or player props.
- Odds
- Numbers that reflect how likely an outcome is and determine how much you can win relative to your stake.
- Over/Under
- A bet on whether a specific statistic, like total goals, will be higher (over) or lower (under) than a set line.
- Parlay
- A wager that combines multiple selections into one bet; all must win for you to receive a payout.
- Push
- When the final result lands exactly on the line, the bet is declared a tie and your stake is refunded.
- Risk-Free Bet
- A promotion that refunds your losing bet up to a certain amount, usually as a free bet if you lose.
- Roll-over (wagering requirement)
- The number of times you must bet a bonus amount before you can withdraw any winnings from it.
- Self-Exclusion
- A tool that lets you temporarily block your own account from betting, helping you control gambling behavior.
- Stake
- The amount of money you put on a bet.
- Value Bet
- A bet where the odds offered are higher than the true probability of the outcome, giving you an expected advantage.
- Void Bet
- A bet that is cancelled and your stake is returned, usually because the event was postponed or the market was erroneous.
